ABOUT ME

Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Granada with a solid scientific career that began with a Degree in Chemical Sciences (2001), followed by a PhD awarded Cum Laude and the Extraordinary Doctorate Award (2005–2006). After completing a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Ramón Areces Foundation at the University of Milan, he joined the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Granada, where he established an independent research line focused on the design and synthesis of multifunctional coordination compounds for applications in luminescence, biomedicine, and nanoelectronics.

He is the Director of the Research Group FQM‑394, composed of permanent staff, competitive research fellows, and postdoctoral researchers, and characterized by a strong interdisciplinary approach combining chemistry, biochemistry, and electronics. Under his leadership, the group has published more than 120 scientific articles in the last five years.

In terms of research funding, he has participated in 35 research projects (acting as Principal Investigator in 13 of them) with a total funding raised of approximately € 2 million.

His scientific output comprises 283 publications in internationally recognized journals, with over 5.800 citations and an h‑index of 41.
